Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) and CMDB scoping mission

At the end of 2023, an organization in the insurance sector requested the assistance of our team of consultants to help them scope their requirements with a view to implementing a service asset and configuration management solution (SACM/CMDB functionalities). The mission also included the definition of the first governance elements in line with the recommendations of the ITIL practice framework and/or ISO 20000-1 standard.

Activities :

We have organized the project into the following stages:

  • planning
  • requirements gathering - definition of required functionalities
  • support in defining the functional architecture of the ITSM solution
  • analysis of the status and evaluation of ITSM solutions available on the French market
  • supply of a practice framework and CMDB governance management plan
  • drafting of tender documents to prepare the call for tenders


Deliverables:

Our main deliverables to the customer were:

  • project planning and effort assessment
  • facilitation of meetings and design of explanatory presentations
  • drafting of a technical document detailing the required functionalities
  • analysis and drafting of a technical document on the requirements of the new DORA regulations
  • analysis and drafting of a technical document benchmarking and evaluating ITSM solutions available on the market
  • provision of a high-level Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) process model
  • provision of a configuration asset management plan template
  • drafting of specifications to prepare the tender documents


The project was successfully completed. It required an effort of around 30 days for our team of consultants, divided into several stages over 6 months.
