IT services configuration enhancement (CMDB)

The Synairgis team helped a vice-presidency of an important Quebec banking institution improve the quality of its service trees.
By service trees we designate managed configuration items organized in logical tree structures within a configuration management database (CMDB) system.
During this mandate, we accomplished the following :
- Propose an analysis approach
- Organize several analysis workshops and meetings with stakeholders
- Analyze CMDB data of 10 service trees deemed critical
- Provide analysis and recommendations report for each service tree
- Deliver a final synthetic report
Several experts from our team were implicated, mainly remotely but occasionally on site, at the client's location.
Our main deliverables were :
- Organized and hosted analysis workshops
- Analyzed 10 critical service trees
- Provided a summary report including our analysis and recommendations for each service tree
- Assisted in calculating the total cost of ownership (TCO) of IT assets
- Enhanced service trees structure
- Assessed the configuration management process state
